Medical Peels

Introduction

Skin Peels are used to remove the surface layers of dead skin cells without affecting the deeper skin layers. They are designed to gently polish or resurface the skin by inducing a controlled exfoliation. This assists to increase new and healthier cell production to replace older cells. Skin Peels help to increase collagen growth and improve the appearance of skin. Sun-damage, pigmentation, wrinkles, acne and scarring; may all be improved with Chemical Peels.

There are several types of Skin Peels available which have each been designed for different skin conditions and types. All peels are non-toxic and have additional benefits for the skin. Skin Peels also vary in strength and are classified as superficial, medium, and deep according to the level of skin they reach. During your consultation, Define Aesthetics staff will evaluate your skin type, condition and also speak with you about the results you wish to achieve.

A skin peel treatment takes approximately 40 – 60 minutes. For best results, Define Aesthetics recommend that prior to the treatment, you will need to use some priming products. At your initial consultation, a specific skin care regime will be recommended to you to optimise the outcome and assist in the healing process post treatment.

Cosmelan™ Professional Treatment

The Cosmelan™ method has been designed to attenuate | eliminate blemishes caused by excess melanin in the skin.

Blemishes of melanic origin are a frequent skin beauty problem. These blemishes have various origins, among which are: genetics, ethnic group, sex, pregnancy, oral contraceptive use, menopause, etc. Solar radicals are also triggering factors that increase the incidence of newly-appearing blemishes of melanic origin and the reappearance of blemishes already established.

The Cosmelan™ method acts within cells responsible for skin pigmentation, decreasing colour production in areas where excess production is apparent to achieve the disappearance or attenuation of unattractive skin blemishes.
