How Does it work?
Heat is transmitted through the IPL light into the pigmented skin. The light is attracted to the dark pigmentation and draws out the discolouration to the surface of the skin.
The skin then begins the healing process of correcting the pigmentation affected area. A test patch is required prior to your treatment to make sure the treatment is suitable and also to determine the best settings for the patient.
How many treatments are needed?
During your consultation our clinician will be able to advise how many treatments they expect you need in order to achieve the best results. The number of treatments required will differ between individuals and will depend on the severity of the pigmentation. On average, usually between 2 and 4 treatments are required. Following the treatment, using a SPF50 sunscreen will assist with minimising the pigmentation from reoccurring.
