Aftercare – Venus Viva

What to expect after your Venus Viva Treatment

In order to obtain the best results from your Venus Viva treatment it is important to adhere to the aftercare recommendations. We will provide you with an aftercare pack to take home with you that includes skincare and instructions on when to apply it.

It is normal to experience swelling and redness following your treatment with Venus Viva. The duration of this will vary between clients, however it should resolve within 5 days post treatment. There is likely to be a feeling of mild sunburn that will last for approximately 24 hours.

Please call the clinic if any of the swelling, redness or heat feels excessive or like is getting worse or lasting too long.

Immediate Aftercare

  • Avoid direct and indirect sunlight and wear a minimum SPF30 sunscreen
  • Avoid skincare ingredients including Retinol, Glycolic Acids, acne products such as Salicylic Acid or Benzyl Peroxide. You may resume your normal skincare routine after 2 weeks.
  • Use a gentle cleanser to wash your face and gently pat dry- do not rub the skin.
  • Avoid makeup for 1-2 days. After day 3 you may apply a mineral-based make-up if necessary. Ensure that anything used to apply your makeup is completely clean. Make sure any applied makeup is completely removed and do not sleep in any makeup. After 7 days you may return to your normal makeup routine.
  • Avoid touching your face and wash your hands/use hand sanitizer regularly to prevent any infection.
  • Avoid exercise and strenuous activity for 24 hours.
  • Avoid spas or pools for 24 hours.
  • Do not apply ice or cool compresses to the treated area as this interrupts the body’s natural healing processes.
  • You may apply a light, non-irritating moisturizer regularly to hydrate the skin.

Follow Up Appointment

Improvement will be seen after 1 treatment with Venus Viva. In most cases 2-4 treatments are recommended approximately 4 weeks apart in order to achieve the best results. Collagen building will continue for up to 3 months following your treatment, and maintenance treatments are recommended in order to maintain the best results.
